HOW OFTEN SHOULD I FLOSS MY TEETH? – OPTIMAL DENTAL – DR ROMAN LOHYN – COSMETIC AND GENERAL DENTIST – MELBOURNE – VICTORIA
How often should I floss my teeth?
You should floss your teeth at least once each day. If you do not floss you are almost certain to have bad breath as well as a heightened risk of decay. We also would like to advise you that you don't need to floss ALL your teeth...only the ones you want to keep.
Located in Melbourne, Optimal Dental strongly advocates the value of flossing daily. If you are unsure as to the best way to floss your teeth correctly or have any queries regarding your oral well-being, please ask Dr Roman Lohyn at your next consultation.
Bad breath is the result of bacteria. Bacteria can be found in many places within the mouth and regular brushing can usually get rid of the problem. One place that brushing alone can not get to is under the gum line. Flossing is the best way to remove bacteria from under your gum line. Bacteria left under the gum line for too long can initiate Periodontal Disease. Periodontal Disease is a serious condition, which left untreated can lead to the ultimate loss of several teeth.
Optimal Dental is dedicated to your oral needs and would like to help you to maintain your natural teeth for life.
